What is LuxG?

The LuxG handpiece offers safe and effective treatments to remove skin imperfections such as vascular and pigmented lesions. This innovative handpiece works well on red vessels on the face, neck and chest as well as unwanted marks without causing thermal damage to the surrounding skin. Lux G handpiece is a vital part of the Three for me treatments offered by Cynosure.

How does LuxG Work?

This handpiece emits highly controlled intense pulsed light (IPL) energy into the areas of skin imperfection. The light energy is then converted into heat energy which destroys abnormal blood vessels and melanin (pigment that gives skin color) causing the skin condition. The IPL energy also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which in turn speeds up the healing process by replacing old and damaged skin cells with new healthy cells. Over time, the treated area becomes aesthetically pleasing and completely free from abnormal blood vessels or pigmentation.

Is LuxG Recommended for all Skin Types?

The LuxG handpiece can help patients with type 1 (ivory skin), type 2 (fair skin), type 3 (fair to beige), and type 4 (light brown) skin get rid of pigmented lesions and abnormal blood vessels. For Rosacea, treatment with LuxG handpiece is ideal for patients with skin types 1-3. For resistant alar vessels (nose vessels), skin types 1-3 are very treatable with the LuxG handpiece.
