What is Lux MaxG?

The Lux MaxG is an intense pulsed light (IPL) system designed for the treatment of pigmented and vascular lesions. By using dual-band filters, this state-of-the-art handpiece provides uniform heating across the larger vessels. Because of this, the Lux MaxG is one of the most effective non-invasive means of treating medium to large blood vessels that are resistant to other laser treatments.

How does Lux MaxG Work?

For removal of abnormal blood vessels, the Lux MaxG handpiece emits increased concentration of near infrared light and longer pulse width to evenly distribute heat energy into the target area. This in turn heats the entire diameter of small and larger vessels, causing the vessel wall to collapse. Over time, the body naturally expels the damaged blood vessels, revealing a smoother and younger-looking skin.

In order to remove pigmentation, the Lux MaxG handpiece emits highly controlled light energy that targets melanin, which is a black to brown pigment that gives the skin its color. Too much melanin causes hyperpigmentation on the skin surface. By targeting and destroying this pigment, the Lux MaxG handpiece improves overall skin appearance.

Is Lux MaxG Recommended for all Skin Types?

Just like the LuxG handpiece, MaxG is recommended for patients with type 1 (ivory skin), type 2 (fair skin), type 3 (fair to beige), and type 4 (light brown) skin. In addition, it’s recommended to be used on untanned skin.
